Get To Know Jeff Rosenplot

I'm a writer who tells fictional stories. In other words, I make shit up. I live in a world inside my own head. And the voices talk to me. Sometimes they tell me about murders. Other times, it’s about the apocalypse. I don’t write stories in a single genre because that’s not how I read. My bookshelf runs the gamut.

My books are dark, funny, sexy, and complex. They’re stories you can sink your teeth into. They’re insomnia reads. The characters whose stories I tell feel like real people. I invite you to meet all of them.

I was born the day Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. That one event has given me a lot to live up to. No pressure, huh? I have a deep lust for knowledge. I need to know everything there is to know. From electrical circuitry to human physiology to music theory to making the perfect cheesecake, I want to know about it and I want to do it. I'll make mistakes. I often do. It's the whole human thing.

After spending nearly 10 years shuffling between more doctors than I can count, I was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Don't know what that is? Don't worry, neither did they. What we do know is that fibromyalgia is a chronic illness that causes widespread pain, exhaustion, and about 250 other really annoying symptoms. I still write. Nearly every day. It just takes me longer to do now. Oh, and if you also have fibro (or love someone who does), check out my book, No End In Sight: The Official Handbook for the Permanently Sick. The book isn't a cure for your chronic illness, but hey, isn't laughter supposed to be the best medicine?

Although a proud Canadian boy, my home now is where the land meets the sea. I live between the Pacific Ocean and the Sierras. I become more Californian every day. Gnarly.

A few tidbits about me. I’m a cat guy, although some of the best friends I’ve ever had have been dogs. Each cat or dog that’s part of my life has not only a unique voice but a full backstory. I can do a lot of things, but packaging of any kind is my kryptonite. I fucking hate ketchup. The devil’s condiment.

I publish my books independently. It's like making an indie film. I believe in what I'm doing enough to take that risk. And I'm the most passionate advocate for my work. My stories are told the way I want them to be told, and the way I want to share them with you. Which is really what this is all about. Writing is a two-part process. Without you to read them, these stories are half-complete.

We have a connection to make, you and me. I want to tell you some stories. Let’s go someplace together that neither of us has ever been. I hope you'll take that journey with me. And make sure you tell me about your trip. Send me an email or share with me on social media.

After all, we're in this together.
